Using the Students Dashboard

  • Updated

The Student Dashboard in Student Success is designed to allow educators to understand how students are doing at a specific school and narrow down to smaller groups of students that they would like to support. You can navigate to this dashboard by clicking the "Students" tab at the top of the page.

Navigating Your Dashboard

On this page, you'll see tooltips when you hover over data points or click on question marks. This information is intended to help you better understand the data you're seeing. Below we'll highlight a few high-leverage features on these dashboards.

  1. On the left side of the page, you can toggle to pages that will show you more specific information about how students are doing in certain areas. The default is the Overview page, which shows all students in a school and their current academics, attendance, behavior, and SEL data. Subject-specific pages show assessment data alongside relevant coursework for students, and interventions dashboards allow you to see how students are being supported via the school-level Interventions Summary and "My Plans" page.
  2. When you apply Filters to your dashboard, you are limiting the students on your screen to those who meet the criteria you are most interested in. Selecting grade 3, for example, shows only grade three students and how they are doing across all domains of school. You can use multiple filters to continue to zoom in and find specific groups of students to support. You can always see which filters are applied by checking the gray boxes underneath the "Overview" header.
  3. At the top of the page, you can use the drop downs to view different schools you have access to, or students within specific courses you have access to. Depending on your role, the Students dropdown will allow you to switch between viewing all of the students in your school ("All Students), all students you teach ("My Students"), all students in grades you support ("My Grades"), or specific courses that you have access to.
  4. You can toggle to previous school years if you've been using Student Success for multiple years. When you select a year, you'll see a snapshot of the data at the end of that school year, allowing you to understand how your data has changed over time.
  5. You can export or print the data on this page to share with others or view your data in another format.
  6. The Indicator bars for academics, attendance, behavior, and SEL show how students are doing in each area. The colors represent the percentage of students who are on track, at risk, or critical based on the available data - read more about the specific cut points for each subject area here. Beneath the indicator bars, you can see individual students and their current status in each area.

Below you'll find links to other resources that will help you use this page's features to support students, for example by creating groups or interventions.
