2020 Feature Release Notes

This page contains a digest of our feature releases and product updates made in 2020. Feel free to click to a specific month to see what updates were released then, or read through for a quick overview of changes we've released recently.


  • December 23: Exporting now available on overview pages in Student Success
    • Educators can now export aggregate data on a variety of pages to further analyze data. Learn more here.
  • December 21: View previous years' data in Student Success
    • Educators can now use school year dropdowns on a variety of pages to view information about students' performance and supports from previous years. Learn more here.
  • December 3: Re-order Survey Questions using Drag and Drop.


  • November 20: More districts have the ability to create SEL Check-ins in Student Success.
    • This feature is continuing to roll out to our partner districts across the country this fall! If you have access to the Check-Ins tab, learn how to create a check-in here, or reach out to your Panorama contact to request more information.


  • October 28: Create School-Specific Intervention Strategies 
    • Select administrators with access to update their district's Intervention Library can now make intervention strategies available only at specific schools. Learn more here.
  • October 19: Updates to scoring questions in the Content Tool.
    • Educators can now make changes to Panorama survey content in the Content Tool. Learn more here.
  • October 8: New District and School-Level Intervention Report
  • October 6: Select schools now have the ability to create SEL Check-ins in Student Success.
    • This feature is rolling out to our partner districts across in this fall! Please reach out to your Panorama contact to get more information. Additional information on utilizing this tool is coming soon.


  • September 8: Enabled email notifications for educators who are added to intervention plans.
    • Educators who are added as a champion or part of an intervention team will receive email notifications about this update, prompting them to log into the platform. Learn more about notifications here.


  • August 31: Updates to scoring questions in the Content Tool.
    • Educators are now now be able to customize how your survey questions are scored while using the Content Tool. Learn more here.
  • August 20: New strategies in default Intervention Library & Contextual Intervention Tips
    • We have added new evidence-based strategies to our default intervention library. Learn more here, and get started using these strategies by creating a new intervention now.
    • Descriptions in the "How does it work?" field in the intervention library will now show up for users who are creating or viewing interventions.
  • August 17: Enabled notifications for intervention plans that need updates.
  • August 7: Assessment-based metrics Now Available in Custom Reports
  • August 4: Uploading Documents to Student Profiles in Student Success
    • Educators are now able to upload files into a student's profile in Student Success. Learn more here.


  • July 15: New Options for Teacher Permissions in Student Success
    • District teams can now decide to provide teachers with access to students within the grades they teach, as well as the students in their course sections. Learn more here.
  • July 6: Custom Reporting released in Student Success (Panorama Labs)
    • Custom Reports allow you to answer questions that are specific to your school or district using the data that is available to you in Student Success. Learn more about creating your own custom reports here. The Custom Reporting feature is part of Panorama Labs, a playground where you can start using features we are currently building and offer feedback directly to the designers and engineers.


  • June 26: Updated Standards Based Grades Cutpoints
    • SBG cutpoints, which determine whether a student is on track for college/career readiness, on track for graduation, at risk, or critical in academics, have been updated. They are now based on the percent of standards for which a student is on track, rather than just the number of standards. Read more about cutpoints here.


  • May 22: Bulk Export of Users
    • Select partners will have the ability to export users from their User Management tool to prepare for updating user access. If you do not see this option, please reach out to your contact at Panorama to learn more.


  • April 15: School Closure Specific Support Notes  
    • Many of our district partners are using support notes in Panorama so that educators can virtually communicate with one another and have a running record on how specific students are being supported while they're learning from home. To offer further support, we have created new support notes options that are related to school closure and virtual learning. Learn more about using support notes here.

      • The new options include:


  • March 19: New District and School Dashboard Functionality
    • The updated District and School Dashboards in Student Success are designed to allow educators to answer important questions that affect student outcomes. You'll now have the option to select your View By criteria in addition to narrowing the data with Filters. The new Overview on the School Dashboard allow you to see these same insights at the school level. Learn more about what you can do with these new features.


  • February 27: Default Time Frame Changed to Year-to-Date
    • All users will now see data for the full year when they log into Student Success, rather than the current marking period. This ensures that data will be easily viewed, even at the beginning of a marking period when grades have not yet been updated.
  • February 20: Assessment Subscores in Student Success
    • Districts who use the following assessments will now be able to see subscores for the sub-assessments, as well as the currently-shown composite score. Check out our assessments page for more details.

  • January 28: Managing Teams for Your Interventions
    • The champion or creator of an intervention plan (individual or group) will now be able to add other educators who supporting an intervention to the team. Those who are added to the team will also be able to edit a student's plan, update progress, or mark it complete. You can read more about this feature here.
